Dún Laoghaire

Hi all,
I'm going to be in the Dún Laoghaire area this summer with my father and sister and I was wondering if anyone can recommend some good restaurants. On our previous trip we went to Brasserie Na Mara , the Purty Kitchen and the Guinea Pig (Dalkey) with varying degrees of success. Although my sister and I are fairly adventuresome in terms of cuisine the old boy prefers his traditional meat/seafood and potatoes) By the way, my father grew up swimming at the Forty Foot and I have noted that there is a restaurant called the Forty Foot. It looks rather interesting but I'm afraid it may be too "trendy" for the old boy. Any thoughts?

Forty Foot is trendy, and is just ok, though the view from the bar is great - mid week. Can recommend Toscana in Newtownsmith, also Cavistons in Glasthule for lunch. You might also consider going to Monkstown.

Thanks, any recommendations for Monkstown? By the way, where is Newtownsmith in relation to Dún Laoghaire?

The culinary "talk of the town" in Dun Laoghaire at the minute is Alexis Bar and Grill which is newly opened. I am sure you could google them to get a website. It has received great reviews so far, and is one of my top "to go" places at the minute.
