Hi Everyone:
I just got a piece of All Clad MC -- it's the 2 quart covered pan. It's stamped "MC" at the bottom. It is stainless throughout with a brushed exterior. (No non-stick.) My other pieces are the copper core which I love. Any of you know anything about the MC line? is is equivalent, better or worse than the traditional AC or copper core. It was a great deal but still expensive so I don't want to keep it if it is just so so. Thanks!

Hi Sally,

The Al-Clad MC line is similar to the traditional all stainless steel All-Clad in performance, but since the outside is aluminum you cannot put it in the dishwasher.

Your copper-core All-Clads (you're a lucky lady) are definitely a step above - Copper is one of the best conductors of heat, which makes for better, even cooking across the whole pan.

Here's some more info for you...

Thanks so much for your quick response. One question, why can't the aluminum exterior go into the diswasher??? Thanks.
