Just discovered the joy of my silpat

I got one as a gift years back and finally broke it out. It works wonderfully when making toffee. All the goo got crispy and peeled right off my jelly roll. Now I wonder what I was waiting for. I might have to try it next time I bake mollasses cookies which are also very sticky.

  1. Isn't Silpat wonderful? Don't even want to think about how I'd manage without my Silpat liners!

then why dont they make them the same size and shape as a cookie sheet??? That's always driven me nuts

Steve - I think that they make them to fit into commercial/professional sized baking sheets. I got my Silpat and baking sheet from the kitchen supply store and they fit perfectly together. The bonus is that stuff is (usually) a better price at these stores.
