Romantic Restaurant Suggestions

  • 2

I am sick as a dog and ruined plans for a nice night out with my wife tonight. I want to make it up to her. Can I get some recommendations for romatic restaurants where we can obtain a desirable reservation time one week in advance? I feel like we are getting into a rut and are starting to frequent the same restaurants too often. My wife is a vegetarian, but the restaurant doesn't have to be vegetarian, just vegetarian friendly. Some where below 14th street and around $150 for the 2 of us including wine.

Thanks in advance!

  1. Check out this little review of Morandi:

They have quite a few vegetarian-friendly dishes.

What about August? They have the whole cozy-romantic-candlelight thing going. Don't know about the vegetarian part though...

    1. Sorry to hear you're under the weather though I'm sure your wife understands that you didn't intentionally ruin the evening. But it is very thoughtful of you to want do something nice for her.

Devi is just slightly north of 14th St., on 18th, b/t 5th & B'way. The Indian cuisine served there is superb -- some of the best anywhere -- and the menu has many vegetarian dishes. There is also a very good wine list. If your $150 budget is for food only, you could do the tasting menus, one of which is vegetarian. If not, you should be able to put together a wonderful meal from the a la carte menu, particularly since a lot of dishes can be shared. Even though the space is large, it has unique, elegant decor and an exotic feel. For added coziness and romance, ask to be seated in one of the curtained booths at the rear of the main level or on the small, more intimate balcony.

      Hope you feel better soon.
