LA Steakhouse that has a NYC feel???

I am going to be in LA for my 30th birthday. I am a native New Yorker who recently moved to San Francisco. As much as I like the West Coast, I am craving a NY steak and NY atmosphere.

I'm homesick.

I haven't been in LA in years...any sugestions?

    1. One obvious choice would be The Palm in WeHo since it's a NYC transplant.

Or for that same NYC feel you could go to The Grill on the Alley in Beverly Hills.

Thank you so much for the reply. I adore The Palm, but i went there two years ago (in NYC) for my bday. Of course, I always go out for steak on bday - I suppose re-runs are about due!

I amended my reply to include the Grill on the Alley in Beverly Hills - if you have not been there.

      2. I dont know exactly what you mean by "New York feal," except that maybe a place that knows what it's doing and that been open more than 6-months! I like Pacific Dining Car. Particularly the one downtown. Another place that feels really retro, but is a little more affordabe and perhaps not as special occasion but still has some history and great 70's almost Vegas like ambience is Talyor's on 8th. Happy Birthday!

Sadly, The Brentwood used to have that great NY feel, but lost it.

        2. I don't know what "NYC feel" means (I'm a native of L.A.) and my husband suggests the Palm for a NYC feel. However, for a great steak and great atmosphere, I recommend The Grill in Beverly Hills or Pacific Dining Car in Downtown LA or Cut in Beverly Hills. Happy Birthday. Enjoy!
