Boho or Silver Spoon?

  • 2

We need to make a decision for tonight, dinner for two. Both are similarly priced and just a few doors from each other. Has anyone been to either?

  1. Silver Spoon, no contest. Boho's more of a family spot, so unless you enjoy a night out with a room full of kids, go for the far more elegant Spoon. Way better food, too.

I agree wholeheartedly - I have been to both several times, and would definitely pick Silver Spoon over Boho....

Silver Spoon 390 Roncesvalles, at Howard Park, 416-516-8112. Since launching in 2000, this elegant flower-filled salon has become a calming oasis of sophistication on once rough-and-tumble Roncey. Owner/chef Rocco Agostino's confident contemporary card combines with unobtrusive but informed service to deliver dazzle with detail. Best: sensational soups like braised onion finished with truffle oil; potato and leek tart with tequila-cured salmon; pistachio-crusted New Zealand lamb plated with butter-sautéed veggies and red-jacketed potatoes; roasted free-range chicken stuffed with couscous; daily vegetarian specials like a truffle-oiled terrine of baby beets, carrots and asparagus; to finish, molten flourless chocolate gateau with crème anglaise and warm ganache. Complete dinners for $70 per person, including all taxes, tip, and a glass of wine. Average main $30. Open for dinner Tuesday to Thursday 5 to 10 pm, Friday and Saturday 5 to 11 pm. Closed Sunday, Monday and some holidays. Licensed. Access: one step at door, washrooms in basement. Rating: NNNN
