Yountville and Philo Apple Farm

Any suggestions for some unique food and wine experiences/tours/tastings/dining in the Yountville area - Wednesday - Friday in early May? I've been to the wine country many times and would like a different experience - not just the walk in, taste a few wines, buy a few bottles and follow the crowd. I loved Bouchon and that delicious bakery & coffee shop in St. Helena. We're not looking for a Mecca like French Laundry, but maybe some great breakfast, fabulous coffee shop, great cocktails, supper yummy food - we eat everything.

We'll also be spending the weekend at the Philo Apple Farm. Any suggestions for stops along the way? We'll be traveling from Yountville to the Philo Apple Farm for their weekend cooking school...and then traveling back to San Francisco. http://www.philoapplefarm.com/ Any sights along the way? Not sure where we'll be stay in San Francisco, but we'd be open to suggestions on a nice boutique hotel (not fans of the Sheraton, but don't want to pay for the Ritz) in a area that has sights to see within walking distance or a cab ride, restaurant suggestions?

Thanks!

Philo / Boonville / Anderson Valley are discussed on the California board, I made some recommendations here:
