Liquor store for unique brands?

What's the best store in the city to find unique, small-batch or hard-to-find spirits? Ideally below 52nd street.

Agree with the LeNell's reco. Address is 416 Van Brunt Street b/t Coffey & Van Dyke, in the Red Hook nabe of Brooklyn. Owner is great and so knowledgeable. Phone (718) 360-0838

For hard to find beers, I have found the best source to be New Beer Distributors at 167 Chrystie St. (212) 473-8757. I buy Hitachino there as they have the largest selection i have seen.

It's actually LeNells (an 'e', not an 'a') and is exactly the place to find small-batch hard-to-find spirits, especially bourbon. The place is awesome.
