New to the area. Looking for recommendations for good places of all price ranges in the area. Thanks!

Agree with ScubaSteve - Cassis (http://www.cassis-bistro.com/) and Glory (http://www.gloryrestaurant.com/) are the two that immediately come to mind for high-end restaurants. (Glory's menu has DEFINITELY changed since I was last there; I'm going to have to head back and try it again!

      )

In addition, Burton's Grill is pretty good (http://www.burtonsgrill.com/) and I've heard good things about Glory's sister restaurant in Bradford (http://www.evenfallrestaurant.com/).

I haven't been but friends really enjoyed Burton's Grill recently. We have enjoyed Mango Grill over in N. Andover. Also enjoy The Loft (both these are more casual and less expensive, certainly not the caliber as Cassis or Glory) http://www.loftsteakandchophouse.com/...

        1. re: lexpatti

The Loft is a great place for a beer and burger - haven't been there in a long while. Joe Fish is also over there as well.

Have you been to the Italian place near Butcher Boy - I think it's called Orzo? I vaguely remember a friend who used to live in the area telling me she went there with family and they enjoyed it.

          1. re: LindaWhit

I haven't but had heard great things about that too. There is another great little italian place I always forget to mention - I think it's Andover, maybe on the line in Tewksbury. Called Luna Rosa - very good.

          wow, thank you!!

      2. I've had some good meals at Palmers in Andover (http://www.palmers-restaurant.com/).
The daily specials are a lot more interesting than the regular menu, and you can order from the restaurant menu in the bar, where they do the best pint of English beer I've found in three years of searching.

Your link got messed up - I think it took the ). at the end. Here's the correct one:

          http://www.palmers-restaurant.com/

I've only eaten in the bar and had bar food, as a bunch of women from work go there every couple of months to drink and vent (in fact, we were there this past Wednesday!). I've only eaten the chicken satay in the bar, as everything else (other than the salad) seems to be fried mozz sticks, fried onion rings, potato skins, etc. or the portions are more than I want. (I've been trying to get them to go to Glory, but a couple insist on Palmer's.) Their dinner menu, however, DOES look good.

          1. re: LindaWhit

Think the bar menu at Palmers is really overpriced for the greasy frozen food you end up getting. Burgers are fine, appetizers are typical pub grub, but the prices are more expensive that similar pubs in Boston. At least there's an interesting selection on tap. The dinner menu does indeed look good though.

        2. Mootone Japanese for Sushi www.mootone.com

There is a Chinese food place on rt. 125 in No Andover I believe. I used to go all the time, and I think it's called China Blossum.

It used to have Prime Beef on their buffet menu on Friday or Saturday.

Skip the Anover Inn at Phillips though, the last time I was there it had gone downhill.

            1. re: mjg0725

been there actually. good sushi but they screwed up our takeout order. have you been to teatone their chinese place next door? i'm wondering how that is...

              1. re: jrmd

I get takeout from Mootone on a Bi Monthly basis. Been going there for a few years now. They slightly messed mine up once or twice as well. Make sure they read the order back to you.

Teatone is much better than most Chinese Restaurants around. It's been great when I have gone. Love their homemade Crab Rangoons. I try not to eat Chinese too much, but if I were going to, I would not hesitate to go there.

Check out the new Mawby's in Andover Center for sandwiches, cheeses and cold cuts!

            2. You have to try Gavens in Middleton--great place much like Grill 23 but even better--and you have to try Mawby's in Andover--a great gourmet shop that offers gourmet take out.
