A New Morton's Steakhouse Coming to Boston
Looks like Morton's will be coming to the World Trade Center building in the Seaport District of Boston. Just heard it on WBZ this morning.
Looks like they will open in early 2008.
It should be a big hit once it comes to town, and it should definitely help attract more people to the Seaport District.

We've moved an off topic digression to the Not About Food board at http://www.chowhound.com/topics/386764
Please help keep this board focused on finding great chow in the Boston area. Thanks.

If the new Morton's is the same quality as theold one, my comment is a big yawn, who cares. The one in Back Bay is the only steakhouse I did not finish a porterhouse in, blah. That being said there is a new CEO for Morton;s so maybe he can make both of them better.
WRT new resto in that neighborhood, anything that brings biz there is good and Morton's seems to bring people in.
WRT why us bsiness travellers like steak places? there is a sense of familiarity, a sense of comfort, a sense of it's OK to eat at the bar alone in a steak house. It is also an easy decision, "Hey I'm going to ABC Steak house." Of the 100 meals I ate on the road last year probably 20 were steak houses. The other 80 were from CH recommends or locals telling me where to try.

re: Chris VR
Just google legacy + dedham. There are many results but they are mostly repetitive.

Okay, how many do we have? Morton's 1 (which they just spent a boatload to remodel), Oak Room, Grill 23, Abe & Louie's, three Capital Grilles, Smith & Wollensky, Plaza III, Bonfire, Fleming's, The Palm, Ruth's Chris, the upcoming KO (fka Spire), whatever is replacing The Federalist, Angus, Davio's, Metropolitan Club, Vintage Restaurant. Not to mention Frank's, the Hilltop, and the Stockyard. And the low-end chains like Outback and Lone Star.
I can't tell you how thrilled I am that Boston is getting a second Morton's.
