Ideas for 30th birthday party in June

ilsescully Mar 29, 2007 09:09 PM

I want to throw myself a major 30th birthday bash. Kinda punk but with excellent food. Definitely must include silliness. Music, karaoke, whatever. Should be a hip place, not too expensive. I want to be able to accommodate a group of 10-20, at night, mid-June. I'm thinking California cuisine, Italian or Mexican. I'm open to ideas but I want this to be a memorable event that people just can't refuse. If I could somehow combine La Fondue and Green Day in one party that would be a dream concept come true.

I'm looking for a place in the South Bay/Peninsula/City. I am welcoming all ideas.

Why don't you look into Lime on Market, or Emme's Spaghetti Shack in the Mission?

even though it's east bay and you aren't nec. looking that direciton, Pizzaiolo has a back room that can accomodate up to 30 people. you can be as racous as you can, eat great food, and drink great wine'/beer/cocktails!

I went to Poleng for the second time last week and wasn't impressed -- the order in which the food came out was all wrong (salad last?) and a couple of the dishes (papaya salad, green beans) were underseasoned and just didn't work.

However, I have heard good things about having a private party at the Last Supper Club on Valencia. I had my 30th birthday at Cha Cha Cha on Mission, but the food may not be good enough for your purposes. They do have a private room, though.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. It seems that every place suggested is vehemently opposed by other reviews online, so its hard to know what to do, but I am grateful for the input.
