French steel pans safe?

I've been looking for good crepe pans. Any ideas? I see these DeBuyer French steel pans. Are they good, more importantly are they safe?

Safe from what? My 40+ year old no-name French steel crepe pan is going strong, and most importantly, so are we. What is it that worries you?

Sherri, Probably the French. No one wants to see their car in flames let alone a crepe pan used as a weapon.

If I were you I wouldn't cook freedom fries on them.

I have a French carbon-steel omelet pan that's perhaps 30 years old, and it still works fine.
