Where can I buy premium tonic water?

Odelay101 Mar 29, 2007 09:56 AM

Looking to make a high class G&T with one of these premium tonic waters I've been reading about (Fever Tree, Q, etc.). Does anyone know where I can find them in Manhattan?

try emailing the companies-i've seen boutique mixers at murrays cheese and citarella but i don't think they carry tonics. Fever tree is gearing up for a US launch in the spring/summer, Q is nyc based so should be easier to find.

what is supposed to be better about them, btw?

when people drink Fiji water, they swear it tastes better but can never explain why. maybe I'd look for these tonic waters too if I knew why I was searching for them.

I see where you're coming from, but I think you're talking apples and oranges here. The tonic waters widely available in the US are industrially manufactured using highfructose corn syrup and god knows what else. These new tonic waters are sweetened with sugar and contain a more "traditional" blend of seasonings (quinine, etc.).

This isn't like tap and fiji, this is like Budweiser and Dogfish Head...

Sounds good. After all, if you only have Hendricks lying around and need to make a G&T, might as well not spoil everything w/ $.99 Canada Dry.

by the way-Q has totally sold out their first batch, they will be getting in the next shipment early may so looks like you'll have to wait a month for g&t season...
