Downtown Office Lunch

  • 6

I'm in charge of ordering food for a monthly office lunch in downtown LA for about 30 people. I'm looking for places that do catering and delivery to the area. Any creative ideas would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I have the same issue. I haven't found anyplace that I really like that delivers, so I usually just go and pick up my order at 11:30 or so. The two places I've liked the best are Langer's (http://www.chowhound.com/topics/325972 ) and the Eastside Market (http://www.esmdeli.com/ ). I've also considered ordering from Brent's, (http://www.brentsdeli.com/ ) and I think they will deliver, but the distance has so far deterred me.

Will be curious to see what sort of responses you get to this inquiry; maybe there's some great new place we can both use.

    1. i'm pretty sure they cater, don't know about delivery (maybe) but i really like that little market/store with the boar's head umbrellas across the street from pete's cafe. it's pretty busy during lunch hours. good sandwiches and other goodies like hummus that they get in from some nearby med place, potato salad, etc.

      1. i love mendocino farms in california plaza (next to moca). they have fresh, tasty sandwiches, salads and soups. always crowded during the lunch hour. they definitely cater, and i believe they deliver as well.

mendocino farms is a good choice (assuming it works logistically). the food is solid and everyone can find something appealing. you may also want to check out cafe metropol

        2. You been to the greek place at 7th and fig? They do catering and its always busy (not sure about delivery). Their salads are great and they have an extensive menu.

          1. For shock value, you could get a 36" pizza from Big Mama's on Flower (http://www.36pizza.com/) It's not that amazing or anything, but there's something funny to me about a pizza box you have to tilt to get into an elevator.

I realize this is probably unrealistic, but how I wish someone would bring it to our office: BBQ!

I much prefer Spring Street Smoke House to BBQ King. Messy, spicy, delicious fun.
