Susina or Cafe Los Feliz cakes?

I'm narrowing a cake search down to Susina or Cafe Los Feliz because of convenience on a tight schedule - can anyone recommend a particular cake or experience from either? Tend to prefer darker chocolates (ganache), nuts, liqueurs, fruits, not so much for the whipped creams... Or, will I miss the mark with either place?
Thanks!

I stopped by Susina to check out their cakes pre-ordering, and maybe it was because it was late at night after a long day at work, but nothing really appealed to me. I ended up getting a piece of the Chocolate Hazelnut Torte to try out - it was really nice, dense, and rich, but wasn't what I was looking for (I really wanted to do a traditional birthday cake). Tired and confused, I went home and asked the question: what's your favorite kind of birthday cake? The answer surprised me - simple strawberry cake. So I ended up just making one myself. It looked like a total mess but tasted great. I will have to try that white berry cake, after all the raves it gets. They carry that and a few other cakes from Susina at Alcove, my local dessert spot.

Glad it worked out! In the future, I like Chinese Bakeries for super simple and yummy strawberry cakes. They are MUCH cheaper than Susina too! :D

I love the pecan pie cheesecake at House of Pies. It's like Pecan Pie on bottom and cheesecake on top. MMM.

I don't know what it's called at Susina - but it's a white cake with some berries on it and crusted in fantastic chunks of merange (sp?)

Another EXCELLENT bakery in Los Feliz is Panos Pastry on hollywood Blvd. Also, they are in Glendale on Central. Fantastic cakes. I like Susina and Los Feliz but always go back to panos....

Cool - Thanks for the tip. Can I ask which cakes you've had as well?

I think that Susina does a GREAT job with baked goods. Having not been to Cafe Los Feliz, I am unable to compare, but I have purchased several cakes from Susina, and never been less than thrilled.
