Any thoughts would be welcome. I've got a reservation next week, and given that I'm only in Paris for 5 days, thoughts are most welcome.

I've eaten at Arpege numerous times and consider it one of the two or three best restaurant in Paris. How much one like it depends on ones personal taste. It is not "grand dining" like Ducasse or Taillevent but a personal vision of a very great chef, Alain Passard. The menu consists of vegetables and seafood with an occasional meat. The ingredients are the best available and the cooking can seem simple and austere. Unless you take the prix fixe lunch, it is also the most expensive of the 3-star places. A meal for two with a modest wine will exceed 700E.
