San Mateo - Saigon City's sister, La Petite?

OK, I tried searching and this isn't sticking in my mind as being posted on Chowhound. Has anyone tried it?

Here's a Chronicle review in bargain bites which seems to like the food better than Saigon City. They liked the banh xeo, chao tom and pho tai.

Elsewhere on the web some were, uh, yelping about the bad service but I wasn't getting a clear picture if the food was any good.

Anyone tried the bahn mi? Kind hefty price ... $3.95.

IMO Saigon's pho is better than La Petite's, but La Petite does everything else better. So if you're in the mood for pho, go to SC. But if you want some good over the rice dishes or vermicelli dishes, go to LP. And LP's eggrolls are the best in town

I've been a few times for lunch, several times since they opened.

I've had the pho a few times, it's adequate. Also had a surprisingly good tofu/long bean stir fry. I haven't tried the bahn mi yet, because it does seem a bit pricey. But the pho is on par with Saigon City in my opinion. And the service here is better than Saigon City. You get ignored just as much, but they're not as grumpy.

This place has changed ownership three times in the last 7 years and it just seems to get worse and worse everytime. La Petite USED to be great about two management changes ago, but these days, I'd say Saigon City is better. And the service IS that bad.
