Passover-safe gourmet? Is it possible?

Dear fellow Chow-ers
Please save our family sanity, what there is of it. We need to have a 75th birthday celebration during Passover, in the Boston area. Does anyone know of a caterer, or wonderful take-out option that could satisfy chowhounds and religious observers alike? Thank you for your help!

Thanks for the cookie rec, Blumie

About a Passover meal, it's easier if it doesn't have to be kosher - the only decent kosher food I've found in town is Milk St Cafe, which will do a catering "drop" but it's pretty straightforward dairy lunch fare. And many glatt kosher places just close for Passover because it's too hard to comply in a commercial kitchen. (not sure if Milk St closes; website didn't say).

But if your meal just has to follow Passover rules and not necessarily come from a kitchen that is kosher and/or completely Passover compliant (which of course means faux Passover, or what the catering world calls "kosher style") I bet you'll find options in Brookline and Newton. You just need to be clear about just how strictly you're defining "kosher for Passover."

The Metropolitan Club in Chestnut Hill is offering a special Passover menu for the whole week. http://www.metclubandbar.com

Call Vickie Lee Boyajian in Belmont. I'm sure she'd be thrilled to cater something for you.
