Lin's Kosher Chinese Kitchen, in NJ

Just read a nice comment about this restaurant on another thread. I've never heard of this place, and would like to hear other reviews.
Is it worth a trip from Staten Island?

  1. Nice looking menu:

Seems like an odd locale a kosher Chinese place; I didn't realize there was even an orthodox community there. Meanwhile, West Orange is overflowing with yidlach and all it has is a takeout place...

I don't think there are Orthodox in the immediate vicinity, but they are about twenty minutes from booming Highland Park/Edison and a similar distance from East Brunswick. They are also less than half an hour from Morristown and its sizaeable chabad community.

Yeah, I realize that. Still, seems an odd choice. I wonder about its history.

One fact that is interesting is that the owner is a chinese native who is jewish and shomer shabbos -

Now that's cool! Thanks for sharing. It looks like about a half hour from me, so maybe I can convince my wife to shlep down there with me. :-)

    2. Most definitely - It ranks as one of the top kosher chinese restaurants I have been to.

      1. It is very tasty. I think they have an all you can eat buffet monday nights. They do draw business from Morristown - the OK supervision probably helps. Most times I have been there though it has been pretty empty.

        1. As the commentor from the other thread, yes its worth the trip and not likely that long. Lins is in Mansville right off of Rt 287(440). The location is certainly interesting but as others have observed, they are in a sweet spot able to service Highland Park, Edison, Bridgewater, and up towards Morristown as these towns are all along the 287 axis. Also, they deliver on a $50 order to Highland Park so it makes itself accessable.

As I understand they are related to the chinese place in Monmouth COunty on Rt 9.
