Sat. 11am girls' brunch in Needham/Newton

Some girlfriends and I are meeting for brunch on Saturday in the Needham/Newton/Wellesley area. We have to meet early, 11am. Can you recommend a good place to meet up? We were thinking of Restaurant Pava in Newton, but it has more of a lunch rather than brunch menu on Saturdays. Another place I was thinking of was Bread & Chocolate in Newtonville, but I don't know how crowded it gets in the mornings. Thanks!

Bakers Best, in Newton Highlands, is a nice, casual place for breakfast or lunch (although if you're interested in breakfast items, you should confirm that they still serve off their breakfast menu at that hour.

My own experience of Newton/Needham is that most fancy brunches are done on Sunday only. Your main options are lunch or a traditional diner-y breakfast (with long lines at 11am). Most lunches don't start until 11:30a.

I might lean toward something like Aquitaine Bis, which at least offers an elegant lunch if not eggs and omelets. Bernard's at the Mall at Chestnut Hill might also suit: fancy Westernized Chinese, decent noodle soups.

Le's at the Atrium Mall might be fun: you'd be doing the Vietnamese thing by having pho for breakfast/lunch rather than dinner. I hear there's also one in Needham, but I don't know it.

I haven't tried the Metropolitan Club in Chestnut Hill at lunch or under its new chef, but that's a pretty swank lunch spot. I haven't tried Masala Art in Needham, but hear that its Indian is quite nice and the space good-looking.

Not sure that any place that is in the league of Pava opens that early. In Needham, there is a small Greek place that serves breakfast- I believe it is called cafe fresca- hear it is good but it is not fancy. Other non fancy places for breakfast are Johnny's in Newton Center, Captain Marden's Takeaway in Wellesley. The Met club on Route 9 has a nice brunch but I think it is only on Sunday.
