Review: Apollon, Appleton, WI

Just got takeout from there after looking at some old posts.

The lemony rice soup was creamy and delicious. I got the meatball appetizer and those were delicious with the Tzatiki sauce. Lamb medallions were my main course and that came with the soup and salad. The pink salad dressing was tangy, the olive in the salad was high quality and tasty. I chose mushroom risotto as my starch. Nice and creamy, I wanted more. Even the vegetables were delicious with the meal, asparagus with carrots and green beans.

I can't wait to try the next meal. I am here on business and it is great to find takeout like this. I would like to try some of the other Appleton establishments but I am so looking forward to my next Apollon meal that this may have to wait.

  1. I agree! Apollon has consistently good food and great service.

If you're in the Valley again, you might also want to try Cy's Bistro in Neenah. It has wonderful Thai food and excellent service at reasonable prices.

    1. Having gone to Neenah High School and graduating from UW Oshkosh (dating a few girls from Lawrence during that time), I always loved Apollon for a date night. Good food and terrific Greek wines, enthusiastic service and fun owners.

Along with Mongos (RIP) and Peggy's (RIP) where my wife and I had our first date, it was one of the best places to eat in the Valley in my opinion.
