ball square

big sign in el guapo's window: "new home of soundbites." and the plywood is off the the urban gourmet's windows, and there seems to be work going on inside.

At the Urban Gourmet they replaced the windows on Monday I believe.

Also in the old Ball Square Seafood space, they put up a sign for Pescatore's and then took it down and later put up a smaller one. I thought the liquor store owner took over that space and the signs are from beer wholesalers, so I would guess it is associated but just speculation on my part.

Up in Magoon Sq I believe the Haitian place was replaced by yet another take out Chinese...

We were there last weekend and the owner told us they were opening in El Guapo's space in a few weeks. He also mentioned that their current space will reopen as a breakfast spot again...apparently his landlord feels he can do the same thing.

Any idea if their BBQ/Middle Eastern place will remain open across the street?

Apparently the landlord who will be running the breakfast spot in the current SoundBites location is Victor's Deli right next door.

Is Guapo's closed? (I haven't swung through there in ages...)

I'm pretty sure that Soundbites is opening a cafe in the old El Guapo space. Not sure whether El Guapo is moving somewhere else or whether its gone for good.

They should just rename it "Soundbites Square"
