Ever heard of a cuban place called Congo's?

I just saw a new place about to open around the corner in Greenville, SC called Congo's and the banner on the outside says "Cuban" so I was wondering if anyone has heard of this place or if this is not a chain?

well, i can tell you it's a chain - one just opened in Chapel Hill to sort of mediocre reviews. haven't been, though.

It is opening next to the new Blooms on the corner of Hwy 14 and Pelham road.

      2. Hello ps1,

I can tell you that it is not a chain, but is planning on expanding. Cuban food is flavorful. If you want to try non-spicy carribbean food give it a try when it opens. I know you will enjoy.

Thatnks acostabr. I searched every where I could think of online and could find nothing about it so i assumed it was not a chain. I love Cuban food and am so looking forward to trying it. I hope it is good. i know of no other Cuban food around Greenville

I am also very excited for the opening of this restaurant. I lived for many years in Miami and I ate a lot of cuban food. It is the best in the whole world. I heard they are going to have a bar and offer Cuban drinks. I can't wait to get my hands into a cuban mojito, or a cuba libre. I also know they are going to offer Cuban daiquiris, and piƱa colada, and more. I'll definitely be the 1st one there when they open, hope to see you all there.

          1. Being from Miami, I believe this is a branch of the Estefan-owned chain, the first outpost of which is attached to our basketball arena.

If it were.. then it would be Bongos...

The word "Conga" has Cuban connotations (i.e. Conga drum) but the word "Congo" doesn't quite have that solid cuban connection... which either explains the mediocre reviews or maybe the OP has the name wrong?
