Pareve Bakery in NYC

Hi...I'm looking for a good pareve bakery in the city. I need a good cake for a party and am not sure where the best bakery would be. Can someone please help me out? Thanks!

I'm not sure that they do traditional cakes, but I've had their cupcakes, and for vegan, wheat-free, sugar-free baked goods, they're not bad...

Gertel's goes down well, I agree, but side with mggn about Moishe's being my personal fave.

Team Kitty, Moishe's was my choice, not mggns. Aside from my fondness for munching on their hamentashen, it was always fun to watch the proprietors scrap behind the counter.

Kosher Critic - I'm completely with you, though I really am not keen on parve hamentashen - yeast or cookie - at the best of times. Speaking of scrapping staff, Kossar's also has quite the floor show sometimes.

More hamentashen for me! In return, I will give up my front row spectator's spot in line. I recall that they also make some dairy danishes that might be more to your liking.

Cool! I thought they were completely parve, like Gertels (if I read the sign correctly). But I'd still go for Yonah S.'s knishes if dairy were on the table.

Moishe's on 2nd Ave; Gertel's on Hester Street. I prefer Moishe's but have used Gertel's for some office party cakes that have been well-received.
