It's MacMillan Orchards, where we stocked up on what they called "Macpancakes" - two small pancakes surrounding a layer each of egg and sausage, a handy microwavable breakfast. We also loaded up on mildly curried chicken, bacon/cheese perogies, etc. And fruit, of course - two enormous plastic display apples sit on each side of the building in the parking lot. It's at 733 Kingston Rd. E, a block or two east of Salem Rd., and according to their website there's another location in Acton. They are the folks that do the scoop and bake cookie and muffin batters that are often used as fundraisers for schools, groups and teams. If you're going to their location in Ajax, their frozen yogourt is phenomenal and they have a decent selection of locally produced foods, including maple syrup and cheeses...my family has been shopping there for years. We've shopped at MacMillans for ages, and I suppose I've just grown to view it as a given. But you're absolutely right; they're a gem. Tons of great suggestions already, but I'll add that their frozen soups and stocks are of extremely high quality. They also sell delicious perogies.
