Pasta Machine less than $20, opinions?

I'm looking to buy a pasta machine but I recently bought quite a bit of things for my kitchen so I'm trying not to spend too much money. Recently I saw a pasta machine at TJ Maxx for $15, I think it was made by Norpro (not sure)? I decided not to buy it since I hadn't researched anything about pasta machines. After reading lots of threads on Chowhound about pasta machines, a lot of the recommended ones are around $50. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the Villaware "Al Dente" model because at less than $20 it's quite affordable. How does it fare compared with more expensive models? Is there a reason why this one is half the price as the Imperia model, is it smaller? Just trying to see if this is a good deal or if I should wait and buy a better model. Thanks!

  1. I've had experience with the's fine, though the clamping mechanism on mine has broke and I have yet to find a replacement.
