Want great breakfast?
Homeway (Mt. Pleasant, about 3 blocks north of Eglinton)
Could eat there every day; very consistent.
Flawless presentation, flavour and service.
Very reasonably priced. Delectable bacon and homefries to die for. At their price, it is not worth cooking breakfast at home anymore.

Thanks for this. I'd but given up finding a spectacular, cheap breakfast joint in the GTA. It's a bit of a journey for me, but I may trek up there tomorrow morning and check them out!

re: Yongeman
Thanks for the recs on this board, I tried Homeway this morning with my wife. It's a nice neighbourhood kind of place without being a greasy spoon diner.
The food was OK, good straightforward kind of cooking, nothing fancy... my wife had the bacon and egg sandwich, which she liked, and was happy that the portions were a good size for her. I had the eggs Benedict, which was fine, and the server brought out a ramekin of Hollandaise which he said was fresh made...tasted fine. I agree with nummanumma though that the homefries were a little underdone. Service was so-so, as the waiter spent most of his time up front, we weren't asked if we wanted refills of the coffee or hot water for tea.
I would go again, but I think I prefer Smalltalk down on Bayview for their slightly fancier menu and fresh baked goodies.

I couldn't have said it better. This is an excellent breakfast restaurant. I went twice in the past 2 weeks, and both times were great for all in my party. You can get a cheaper breakfast at a local greasy spoon, but the food, service and surroundings are right on, at Homeway ($5.95 for bacon or sausage, 2 eggs, homefries, toast).

re: Royaljelly
Rj, I can't really compare. I've just peeked into Saving Grace, but I didn't see their menu. We actually were getting some cookies from Ella's Uncle, across the street, which were quite good. Not sure if Homeway has a website...couldn't find it. It's definitely a more uptown experience--crisp, simple decor, but great breakfast.
