i'm hoping the moderators don't toss this out. we bought a gorgeous 60" square table from pottery barn and i would like to use some table linens, but nothing seems to work. 70" square is too small - only gives 5" drop. someone told me 90" round might work. any ideas? i like all cotton provencal type stuff, nothing fancy. Any suggestions, links, and so forth are much appreciated!

I also have an odd-size dining table, and rarely find tablecloths that fit correctly. I've taken to using table runners and/or placemats, and, once in a while when I'm feeling particularly ambitious and creative, I'll buy fabric and sew a tablecloth.

You might also check out this website. Although I've never bought anything from them, it's my impression that they can make table linens to any size you want, and they do have a selection of 90" X 90" tablecloths available. http://www.wholesale-table-linens.com/square-rectangular-tablecloths.html

This may sound strange, but if you are handy with a sewing machine (or know someone who is), you could make your own out of fabric. My mom made a lot of tablecloths in her time out of fabric remnants.

If not, I bet you could buy either fabric, or even a queen or king size flat sheet, cut it to whatever size you'd like, then hem the edges with that hemming material that you just iron on (no sewing needed).

Lay square tablecloths on the diagonal. Then size does not seem to matter as much. Even if a corner of the table peeps through, it's all beautiful.

Consider buying a rectangular tablecloth and hemming one side.

BTW- I've had very good luck with the linen napkins from PB. They wash well, release stains better than cotton, and get very soft with use.
