Help!! Zankou/Garlic Sauce in Vegas???

dmax Mar 24, 2007 11:30 AM

Los Angeles has the great Armenian chain called Zankou chicken http://www.zankouchicken.com/chicken_... that features their incredile garlic sauce/paste and their one of a kind tahini sauce.

Their chicken tarna is marinated and tastes like no other I've had before.

We live in Las Vegas now and we're experiencing withdrawals from the garlic sauce.

Does anyone have any clues on where to find something similar here in Vegas?

Thanks for your help!

I grew up in LA and use tou o go to Zankou all the time. In the eight years I have lived in Las Vegas there has been nothing close to Zankou in Las Vegas. However, we are getting two Tommys later this year.

I actually sent in a request to the Zankou website to ask if they planned to open a restaurant in Las Vegas. They said no, but the person (apparently someone named Dikran) who responded sent me this suggestion...."please check out this place in Vegas called "Daily Chicken".It's a FANTASTIC restaurant and grill that has the best chicken, kebobs , and other Zankou type stuff. It's near UNLV.Tell them Dikran sent you. Seriously...you will not be disappointed"
I haven't had a chance to try it...but maybe another chowhounder can give a report before I go back to Vegas in April.

Where and when are we getting Tommy's in Vegas? Did you hear this from a reliable source?? (IE someone from the company??)

This is something MAJOR for us LA ex-pats that crave our Tommy's at 2am. We need details so we can celebrate!

Per the Original Tommy's website's FAQ board, they are putting Tommy's at Saint Rose Parkway and Eastern near Saint Rose Hospital and one on Boulder Highway (I think near Tropicana). The website said the Saint Rose Parkway location should be ready sometime around the end of the year.

YAY!! This news just makes my week! Yup, just checked the offical Tommy's website, seems like the 2nd one to open is on my side of town, too! Boulder Hwy, across the street from Sam's Town, in the Super-Wal-Mart shopping center.

Ahhh, Vegas IS getting better! Now, if only Wahoo's would make it's way out here...*LOL*
