I know about Lawry's but is there another place to get great prime rib in the Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Hollywood area?

The Palm on Santa Monica West of Robertson and (on Sundays only) the Grill on the Alley in Beverly Hills. I vaguely recall Morton's on La Cienega near Burton Way having it as well but it was too cottony. Campanile on La Brea near 6th serves a grilled prime rib that is quite good but very different from the sort you would get at the others.

Because it is cooked on the grill rather than roasted, there is a clear difference in taste and texture; it is not as soft as if it was roasted and has a bit of char to it. It is also served with an olive tapenade but its flavor is distinct from the tapenade. Delicious, but not what you typically expect from prime rib.

The last time I was at Musso and Frank's, I ordered the Prime Rib, and I thought it was even better than Lawry's.

You might consider the Grill on the Alley in Beverly Hills. Excellent prime rib.
