Dutch Market?

leah Mar 23, 2007 03:57 PM

Several years ago I went to a Dutch or Amish Market in a shopping center in Gaithersburg where vendors sell everything from fresh chicken, homemade sausages, breads, etc.
I do not remember where it is, or its name. I have not had any success in trying to find information. Does anyone know what I am trying to find?

There's also one in Burtonsville for MoCo's eastern residents.

I thought I heard mention that this site would be closing/moving. Anybody else heard this? Maybe it was just a bad dream...

Not closing. Maybe you're thinking of the other amish market (Burtonsville?).

Yup...that's the one I meant as that is the one I was replying to. Is the one in Burtonsville closing?

There's one in Annapolis as well, on Solomon's Island Road.

BTW, my wife and I ordered custom furniture from Lapp Furniture, from a back corner of that market ... cost quite a bit, but it's gorgeous and worth a lot more.

Just try to navigate away from the pans of fresh cinnamon buns that lie between the door and the back corner - you stand to put on some serious poundage.

Read in this morning's Laurel Leader that the Burtonsville Dutch Country Market is moving to Laurel. YAY!!!

Now there is one open Thursday thru Saturday in Upper Marlboro. I hear they have everything, eggs, meat, produce, quilts and furniture.

When is it opening? I went to the one in Annapolis once, but Laurel is much more convenient.

Sorry for the resurrection here - does anyone know if the Germantown Lancaster market will be open tomorrow (Good Friday)? I assume not but I really want a pretzel.

They website's down, so I can't check there.

I don't know about the Germantown one, but the one in Laurel announced it is closed
tomorrow. That might be an indication they all plan to be closed.

Yeah, it's probably not worth the relatively short drive to find out. I called today and got no answer so I'll assume they're shut.

The one in Germantown is open on Saturday the 3rd but was closed for Good Friday. They're never open on Sundays.
