Pre-Theater Dinner - San Diego
I'm looking for a spot to have dinner before going to the Civic Theater. Because the show starts at 7:00, we have to eat at 5:30 or so. Walking distance is preferable, to avoid parking problems. I was going to go to Cafe Cerise, but it is closed until further notice. Any suggestions?

I'd recommend Dobson's - it's very close, and the food is excellent. If you like rich food try the mussel bisque.
If you just want a casual bite, Downtown Johnny Brown's is in the Civic Center complex - just pub grub type food, in a walk up and order and bring it to your table atmosphere - but it's really convenient.

Laurel offers a pre-theater dinner. They also offer shuttle service between several of the venues; the Old Globe and Symphony Hall for sure, not sure whether they also go to the Civic.
