There are countless good Latin American restaurants in the Woodside to Corona stretch of Roosevelt Ave (under the 7 train). Many of them require long waits. I've just found a new one that's a block off of Roosevelt, and I never have to wait. The food is very good. ( they serve a seafood soup on the weekends that is wonderful!) They've only been around a few months and aren't very visible from the street. I'm hoping they make it through that crucial first year. Also, the waitstaff is very friendly, something I find unusual in this neighborhood. Details:
El Portal Del Sabor
81-42 Baxter Ave
Elmhurst NY 11373

It's less than 2 blocks from the 82 St stop on the 7 train.
