Need some help in Detroit
I have about 30 people coming to Dearborn from overseas (mostly Europe) for a week worth of training. They are going to be confined to a hotel for the week except for Thursday afternoon / evening dinner. Where do you take a group of 30 foreigners when this may be their only trip to the US to expereince a bit of Americana in the Detroit area?

Downtown/Midtown/Eastern Market/Belle Isle/New Center- any of these to walk around. The architecture will knock them out. I recently took a group of Germans to the Fisher building and the true General Motors Building and they were BLOWN AWAY. They bought out the clothes at Pure Detroit in the Fisher building. For Dinner- think tradition! The Caucus Club, Opus One (since $$ is no object), The Rattlesnake Club- best views around and a Jazz band on Thursdays. Also, quite a few bars in walking distance.

One idea is the Dearborn Inn --or the tavern at Greenfield Village. The Inn is old-fashioned, very American as is the menu. Requires minimal travel and a possible stroll around the grounds before dinner. Otherwise, I'd go all out to Coach Insignia or Seldom Blues--riverfront views with "a foreign country" across the river. And with Seldom Blues, also great jazz. Rattlesnake Club is another visually nice option, placed in an historic manufacturing center also on the river.
Let us know what you choose; hope they have a great visit.

I think that the Henry Ford is a great idea for visitors from Europe. Greenfield Village is closed until April 14, and when it is open, it is only open until 5 pm. The tavern is only open until 4 pm. I'd also recommend the Henry Ford Estate (Fair Lane), but their restaurant is only open until 2 pm. Either place would cater something, I'd bet.
