Jewel Bako - Questions

  • 4

I have reservations at Jewel Bako next week and was wondering if anyone could let me know any must haves. I tried to look up the menu on menupages.com, but it doesn't appear to be available. Also - does anyone know the general price range (without drinks). Thanks!

  1. My husband and I just went there last night and it was great. I recommend ordering the medium fatty tuna with pickles and scallion roll. I forget what it is called but it is one of the 9 specialy rolls. I think all those rolls are $16 - for 6 or 8 pieces.

The small maki rolls range from $5-10 (tuna roll, spicy tuna etc.) Sushi is $5-8 per piece. The sushi or sashimi omasake is $50 (which had about 13 pieces total - three pieces of cut roll and the rest an assortment of sushi) and the chef's omasake is $95.

We got the sushi omasake (and they ask if you have any fish preferences or distastes), that specialty roll, tekka maki, spicy tuna roll, three pieces of sushi and we each started with miso soup and shared the seaweed salad. Had a bottle of sake with dinner and started with a beer & glass of wine - I think our bill came out to just under $200 pretax. We were definitely filled when we left, we probably forced ourselves to finish the last 4 pieces of maki left.

It was a great dinner and we will definitely be going back. Have fun!

This is great - thanks so much for the info! I can't wait for my dinner now!

    2. Sorry I meant just under $200 pre-tip.

      1. The sushi omakase is quite good - they are really good about making sure you get your favorite pieces. The uni was amazing. I also recommend these cooked appetizers: mushrooms steamed in sake and the salmon in parchment with uni sauce. Delish.
