Breakfast east of Memphis

Hello all,

I will be traveling along I-40 and staying just east of Memphis for the night, particularly in the Bartlett/Cordova area next week. I am wanting to find a place for breakfast in that area, preferably near I-40 and the Sycamore View area. I am not willing to travel too far from that area, and I prefer a non-chain place that is relatively inexpensive. And if it is a southern style breakfast, even better.

Any ideas?

  1. Not much in that area except for Cracker Barrel and Perkins.

    1. If you can drive a few miles west on I-40/Sam Cooper to Graham, the best biscuits in Memphis are at Bryant's Breakfast at Summer and Graham (barely a block north of Sam Cooper).

Apparently there's a cafe out in the Wolfchase area that people like and have posted here about. I think it's called King Biscuit cafe. I can't recommend it as I haven't been.

I eat at Bryant's about twice a month. It's a hole-in-the-wall and you could smell like bacon/ham grease when you leave, but it's soooo worth it.

        Hi tater,
Couldn't agree with you more about Bryants. Great breakfast, great biscuits, too. We stopped there on our day in Memphis (you know...Graceland, Sun Studios, Beale St. etc.). Wish we could have spent a lot more time there, but had to get back to Nashville. Thanks for the Bryants recommendation.
