Best Fried Chicken in Athens
Here's the deal fellow hounds: my SO and I have been on a serious detox diet for a little while, and it ends Saturday, just in time for an open-bar event we'll be attending at Trump's! We have plans for breakfast and dinner that day, but I really want some FRIED CHICKEN for lunch. I've had fried chicken at the likes of mama's boy and fivestar, but what I am looking for is a little place where I can get a nice, greasy, delicious 3 piece with some macaroni and a biscuit, okra, green beans, you know the basics.
I've never been to Weaver D's or had the chicken at Wilson's or many other places. Athens hounders, please steer me towards the most off-the-hook fried chicken the classic city has available. I'm looking for something akin to the chicken that inspired this video:

I moved here about 6 months ago from NC and I'm not willing to wade through every fried chicken option - so what's number one?
Thanks in advance!

Stopped by Peaches today for a meat and two, ended up getting the fried tilapia/fried shrimp along with green beans (Sysco most likely) and mac and cheese. I thought the tilapia was pretty good, especially considering it had probably sat on the steam table for half an hour. Shrimp fine but not great, mac and cheese not cheesy enough and beans good for canned. They were unfortunately out of collards.
Anyway, they had fried chicken but I skipped it today. Anyone know if it's any good?

Weaver D's Automatic!!!!!
Mac and cheese and other sides are good also.and (How's this for off the wall) the Cafeteria at St. Mary's Hospital has some good southern cooks back there and the fry a mean chicken. I had some for luch today at he Dr's lounge and second only to Weaver's it was fine eating. (the rest of the food wasn't all that great.)
