Decent pizza delivered to 45th/8th?

I live at 45th and 8th and, for the life of me, can't find decent pizza to be delivered. If I'm going out, I'll head to Sacco, or Sullivan St. Bakery or Lazzara's for something different. Sacco won't deliver down to 45th, I've ordered from L'Allegria and not enjoyed it at all, and the couple places on 9th between 45th and 47th (Pizza Plus, I forget the name of the other one) are absolutely awful. Anyone have any ideas?

  1. Don Giovanni does a decent wood-fired pie for delivery. Also, John's nearby for takeout.

    1. Yep. It's a complete surprise, but it's our favorite pizza delivery joint in the neigborhood--Mario's Trattoria. It's at 38th/9th, and quite literally, the only things on the menu worth ordering are the pizzas. But they're really good. Better than L'Allegria's.

      1. Believe it or not, the Amish Market actually makes fabulous pizzas...not sure if they deliver though. There's always Ray's...or are you looking for thin crust? John's pizza is wonderful, but they don't deliver.
One's that do deliver (that are really worth trying): Angelo's & Patsy's

        1. Another surprisingly good pie at the Bread Factory Cafe, 43rd & 9th. They deliver till 9 pm.
I see a new place about to open, 43rd St. Pizza, where that terrible Rocket Wraps used to be on 9th Ave. Here's hoping.

After walking by Bread Factory and seeing them fumigating the place--cookies and pastries still in their case-- and THEN after making a special trip to go back the next day and talk with the manager about what I'd seen, only to be dismissed with a curt "I'm sure the case was sealed. No big deal," I avoid the place like it's my job.
