Bartolotta di Mare at the Wynn - FANTASTIC!

SO and I went to Vegas over the weekend and decided to celebrate our 2 year anniversary at Bartolotta on Saturday night. What a fabulous experience! The food, the service, the atmosphere, everything was all exceptional.

We sat outside in one of the private cabana's -- very romantic and much quieter than inside the restaurant. They wheel a cart out with the very fresh fish options (the spiny lobster was crawling around on the cart!?), which is flown in daily from Europe. We decided to do the tasting menu; I can't remember everything we had, but it was all delicious. The sommlier picked out a great bottle of syrah that worked very weel with all the courses. We started with about 6 different appetizers -- from Red Mullet fish to Seared Scallops to a salad with truffles and an octopus salad to boot. Next were the pasta dishes - 5 different ones including: gnocchi, 2 kinds of ravioli, risotto, zito with spiny lobster. Third course was a whole fish (I can't remember what kind - but some sort of sea bass). This was brought to the table whole, fillet and served with the most amazing "salsa" of olive oil, cherry tomatoes and aurgula. Yummy, ribbons of zucchini was served on the side. Finally the dessert -- flourless chocolate cake with a vanilla gelato, some lemon tart with rosemary gelato (SOOO GOOD and refreshing), and a sampling of other gelatos - chocolate hazelnut, lemon and pineapple.

I would definitely go back, but probably would not order the tasting menu -- even tho it was amazing it was so much food!

I love Bartelotta's!! Me and my wife have gone on many occassions and the food is fantastic. That outside seating around the lagoon is incredible. So relaxing. While the seafood is the real reason to go (Spiny Lobster! mmmm....), the Cheese Raviolis are unbelievable. I dream about them in my sleep. For dessert we always get the Pineapple carpacio (thinly sliced pineapple with hazelnuts and basil gelato). Realy refreshing and delicious. The wine list also has a large amount of Italian wines to choose from, in fact it is pretty much all italian. My only complaint is that they are no longer open for lunch. I am glad you guys had such a wonderful experience and make sure you tell everyone you know. This restaurant deserves the recognition.

Seems like you really did things right! People sometimes look at me funny when I recommend Bartolotta as a seafood restaurant, but the description is apt.

I've never managed to get around to the pastas. What did you think of them? Any favorite?

They were all good -- the stand outs were the gnocchi (with a light tomato sauce), cheese ravioli with a creamy sauce and mini meat ravioli's (not sure what the sauce was, but it was something very light). I didn't love the risotto --- it was made with veggies (peas, asparagus) and probably some cheese also but it was a little crunchy, probably undercooked a little.

It was definitely one of the top dining experiences I've had.
