HELP! San Ramon/Danville
Starting next week we will be spending a considerable amount of time in San Ramon--mostly involving the hospital as well as dr visits. The one of us who will be eating would really like some recommendations, not necessarily for places offering the best gourmet meal ever, but for comfortable, cozy, satisfying places, and especially places serving late lunches. Also, the one who will be eating likes a wide range of food--but generally not Mexican. We've gotten some great ideas from this board, and any and all recommendations will be deeply welcome.
Just as a benchmark--the best we've done so far out there is the Pasta Pomodoro and In & Out...
The Little Home Thai restaurant in San Ramon is pretty good. I eat at the Pleasanton branch all the time for lunch but the San Ramon location is the original.
I've tried Pearl in San Ramon a couple of times -- it's not great but it's good for the area. The things to get are the little Chinese small eats (hot dim sum items and cold appetizer plates) on the little sign on the table, not from the menu which has typical Americanized dishes. The portions are bigger than expected so about 3 dishes are good for lunch for two people.

What is the address/location for Little Home Thai in San Ramon? (Yahoo YP only comes up with the one in Pleasanton.) Thanks!

Oops, it seems their second location is in Dublin, not San Ramon. Sorry about that -- it had been a while since I've been to that location. It's just south of Alcosta Blvd so it's a couple of exits off 680 away...

Pickings are VERY slim in this neck of the woods, but there are a few options.
Madras is a pretty good Indian restaurant in San Ramon (link below with address and menu). They have South Indian in addition to the usual curries. The dosas are wonderful. They have a pretty good lunch buffet and I think it lasts until 3 so that works for your late lunch requirement. Definitely worth a try if you like Indian at all. The service is cold and abrupt and is why I don't eat there more often. It's about a block from the In N Out you mentioned in your post.
The Rising Loafer Cafe at 340 Hartz Avenue in Danville has decent sandwiches on pretty good bread. I think they are open until 2:30 or 3 as well. Poor service there as well, but you can sit outside, which is nice.
Sometimes I get a sandwich at Andronico's in Danville (Hartz and Railroad) and some coffee at Peet's and sit outside.
Primo's Pizza on Hartz Avenue in Danville has decent pizza, nice service and an old pizza joint atmosphere. Avoid the salads.
Whole Foods in San Ramon has a decent salad bar and their pizzas are pretty good (a bit greasy, but with fresh ingredients). I think it's a wood-fired pizza oven and they always have six or seven options to choose from. They have indoor and outdoor seating.
Sadly, this is all I can think of. I hope it helps. I'll post more if I can think of anything else.

I think Cafe Esin is great! It is mediterranean food, in strip mall, on Sam Ramon Blvd, I think. Delicious food, great service.

Diablo Deli--great sandwiches plus salads and lasagna + many other choices

Pete's Brass Rail in downtown Danville makes good burgers, chicken sandwiches, and salads. It has a good atmosphere and a nice patio out front. It is my go to lunch place when I have the rare 680 corridor business appointment .
