Itzocan on 101 St?

I've been to the Itzocan in the EV, was pretty disappointed. Has anyone been to the Itzocan on 101 St? Thoughts?

  1. I was there, and liked it, though I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. Had a leg o' lamb, and it was well-prepared. Wine was ok, better than many places with higher profiles. Small place, good service. If you're in the 'hood, it's worth trying.

    1. I've never been to the EV location, however we've been to the 101 St. location several times. We've never been dissatisfied. We live in the neighborhood and it is one of our favorite neighborhood eateries.

            I also remember having wonderful mussels there - anything with huitlacoche is wonderful, though very rich. I've always been pleased with my food there - they are also v. amenable to BYOB - can't remember what they charge - it's reasonable, but I always call ahead first.

        2. I realize I'm a bit late on this one, but we went last night. We had the ancho crusted duck breast and the roasted chicken. Both were very good as was the wine and dessert. The prices are great as well. I looked up the brunch menu this morning and it's quite tempting as we're dining on a budget. If Itzocan weren't over an hour away from Bay Ridge, I would frequent this cozy bistro.
