In search of delicious baked goods and chocolates in Orlando.

  • 8

Going up to Orlando in a couple of weeks. Want to find a delicous bakery and the best tasting chocolates up there.. Any suggestions? MIA doesn't carry a decent chocolat store except plain ol' Godiva... Looking some home-made delicous treats!! All suggestions are welcome!

Thanks!

  1. The best bakery, as far as CAKES, is the Dessert Lady on Kirkman Road near the Conroy intersection. She has a wonderful cafe and you can just chill with a dessert and a glass of wine. Best in town, as far as I'm concerned. As for chocolate, there are a few chocolatiers up and down Park Avenue in swanky Winter Park, as well as Global Chocolate on Fairbanks near 17-92 (also in the Winter Park area), but I haven't been to any of them. There's one more in Baldwin Park, but I'm blanking on the name...

Park Ave has Peterbrooke Chocolatier (a small chain out of Jax, FL I believe), while Baldwin Park has Farris and Foster's which is more of a small batch Chocolatier. Both are quite good, although I am partial to F & F's ever since they were in a small storefront in adjacent Audubon Park on Corrine Drive. There are others around I am told but have not personally visited these establishments.

Farris and Foster's, that's the one I was thinking of. Some co-workers of mine loved it.

    2. Winterpark has a very nice Chocolate store on the main drag...nice town!

      1. Schakolad Chocolate Factory - http://www.schakolad.com/

I recently went here it was very good

Farris and Fosters is good as well.

        1. Charlie's Bakery on Curry Ford Rd in Orlando makes some of the best cakes and cookies I've ever had. We used to get my mom's birthday cake from there every year. It's been at that location for at least 20 years.

          1. I don't know if you want to make the drive but my favorite chocolates are from Angel & Phelps which is in Daytona Beach. www.angellandphelpschocolates.com. If you plan on heading to the beach, don't miss it.

Thank you everyone! I really appreciate all your help on this.. I will def. jot all these places down.. I'm a serious chocoholic, and I've been determine to find a place that sells delicious baked goods.. It's sad that in Miami there isn't a bakery that sells home-made baked goods.. Only fudruckers by Int'l Mall!

              Cheers!
