Need Old City advice - Philly

We will be going to the Arden in a few weeks for the 8:00 performance. We don't get to that neighborhood very often. Where - close by - should we have dinner?
We've always liked Chloe, but I prefer a place that takes reservations, especially since it will be First Friday.
Thanks in advance.

I agree with the Mandoline rec - a lovely small BYO with a creative menu. The lobster truffle mac and cheese appetizer is terrific, as is the goat cheese pistachio cake. The menu is small, but varied. Nice atmosphere.

If you don't want BYO, Amada is right there, a block from Mandoline. If you go on the early side, it isn't too noisy.

Another great BYO on Third is Bistro 7.

They are all great and all take reservations.

I would add Fork at 3rd and Market, which has a great wine list and bar for drinks

Zento, 100 block of Chestnut, for sushi and other Japanese dishes

Amada is a great choice but they might have issue getting a reservation on a first Friday. You should call NOW.

Mandoline - 200 block of Chestnut, I think. Had a nice meal there a couple weeks back. BYOB.
