Last Night in Nashville

Attending a conference with one night left (tonight). I don't have a car and am based at the Gaylord Opryland. There is a shuttle to the downtown area and I wil take a cab if it is not too exhorbitant.

Suggestions? I haven't spent any money on food so will splurge (a bit) and am dining alone.

I enjoy pretty much all food, done lovingly. From San Francisco so would prefer something local-showing off local ingredients/ regional cooking.

  1. The Capitol Grille located in The Hermitage Hotel downtown would be my choice. Take a cab and have a great time. Good luck.

    1. As far as convenience to the central downtown area is concerned, and also to stay in line with your request for regional cooking, I would say to go to the Capitol Grille as well. However, for upscale with a southern twist you might also look into Watermark in the Gulch downtown, and for Nashville's most solid chefs either Margot Cafe in 5 points or Restaurant Zola on West End Avenue, bot of which are minutes from the downtown core.

      1. I just returned from Nashville and stayed at Hermitage where Capitol Grille is located. WE did not eat there, but food is suposed to be awesome--but, more formal and traiditional space....if that is what you are in the mood for. My favorite was Margot Cafe--check out their website. They change their menu daily and chef cooks based on what she found at the Farmer's Market that day. it is acozy, neighborhood restaurant with fabulous food, cocktails and service. I even loved their homemade limoncello. I think you'd love it.

        1. The Boundry will never let you down, awesome place too. It is on 20th ave. right off west end.
