Where are Sticky Buns in Asheville?

I headed out to find the ultimate sticky bun this morning while I'm in Asheville for the week. I went to City Bakery but they said they only make them in the summer. Bummer. Where in town can I find a memorable sticky bun?

try Sisters McMullen either downtown off Pack Square (Jackson Bldg) or in Woodfin in the Food Lion/Newbridge shopping Center

I've never had a sticky bun there, but the baked goods at Greenlife Grocery are consistently good (and not overly sweet).

When out this way, I also recommend the scones, muffins, and other breakfast goodies at the Flat Rock Village Bakery. (Killer thin crust pizza, too.)

Hmmm. that's weird, I wonder why only summer?

The best sticky I have had in WNC is at Wildflour Bakery in Saluda. There is a whole bike ride devoted to acquiring Wildflour stickies. The crowd leaves from Furman U. in Greenville SC and makes the 60 mile round trip in summer.h

That's a good drive out of Asheville, unfortunately, as is Flat Rock Village Bakery where every baked good is divine.

In Asheville proper , you could try: West End Bakery, Sisters McMullen (if not the regular store then the Cupcake place), or perhaps even the bakery at Greenlife or Earthfare (grocery stores).

BTW, if City Bakery offers a bear claw , eat it. It's like no other bear claw.
