<content>I am a regular purchaser of Hugh Johnson's Pocket Wine Book. What I appreciate is that in a sentence or two, I get a snapshot of the property and the (my observation) historic tendencies of the producer.

Does anyone do anything like this for Cognac (and or Armagnac and or port and or sherry); I'm not a big port or sherry fan myself, but keeping it around would help friends of mine.

Also looking for something similar with a focus on Champagne. Johnson, for all his positives, doesn't do as much for Champagne as I might hope for. I can certainly live with what he does, but wouldn't mind more.

Thanks in advance,
Christopher
