Tucson trip report

Thanks to the Tucons hounds for the recommendation for the St Philips Plaza Farmer's market. Hit it a couple of weekends ago and very much enjoyed it. Good to see that there were local meat purveyors, including a beef CSA, and great veggies. We loved the coffee from Adventure Coffee Roasting. We got provisions for dinner that night of mixed saute greens, pork tenderloin and green chile chorizo sausage and fresh queso blanco with chipoltes. My brother, who lives in Tucson had never heard of this market, so hopefully he'll check it out in the future too.

We hit Taqueria Pico de Gallo for lunch on the way into town. Enjoyable tacos, but loved the paletas from the stand across the parking lot. We went 2 or 3 times over the long weekend we were in town - also a new find for my brother who's lived in town for ages.

Had a lovely meal at Kingfisher and enjoyed the flour tortillas at Teresa's Mosaic Cafe. Also spent time poking around the 17th Street Market and picked up provisions for a cook at home dinner. That's my kind of store!

  1. I picked up my share from that Beef CSA a couple of weeks ago... Very, very tasty beef. They're called Double Check Ranch, and I suggest anyone in the Tucson/Phoenix area who wants good, free-range beef check them out.
