I first heard about Nancy Puebla Restaurant from one of my absolute favorite food blogs, Christians' ocmexfood.blogspot.com

Apparently it specializes in the cuisine of Mexico's Culinary capital Puebla - or at least it did. Now it is " Guerrero's Restaurant." However the printed menu is still the same and bears the former name.
The dishes featured on Christian's blog are still available, namely the quails and cornish hens in either salsa verde or Mole Poblano casero.

The colorful exterior advertised a dish I have been long searching for in the Greater San Diego area to no avail - Posole Verde. *The dish* of the state of Guerrero - North of Oaxaca and South of Nayarit. It advertised the Verde as "Los Jueves" Thursday only but I went in anyway with finger crossed.

First I got the shocked look by the man washing the dishes and a nice woman wiping down a table. This shock soon faded when I began to ask the woman after the Posole Verde (note:no - very little english here). I asked if it was traditionally served with the garnish plate of chiccharon, radish, C & C as well as the inclusion of pumpkin seed paste in the broth - YES!

Good news for us is that this dish has been made available everyday - bad news for me was they usually run out in the morning as they did. Seeing my dissapointed frown - the kind lady asked me when I was coming back so she could save me a bowl. (Super Nice!)

This place looks like a great ch dive.

Down the street is another Guerreran restaurant -any info?
