Aha! Thank you, westsidegal. I'll head over there shortly, and report back on my findings.

That one always seems to have the best oddball foodstuffs as well: jalapeno ice cream, etc. Thanks for the reminder.

I can second that this location has wine. Never tried it! It's a nice, clean location with some decent looking fresh fruits. I once made an apple pie for like $0.75 (apples, pie crust). The Band-Aids after I burned my hand on the oven were several times more.

While you're there, they have/had frozen plaintains, interesting cookies, sometimes canned artichoke hearts and hearts of palm. Do not under any circumstances try the coffee.

    2. I know you asked about the .99's in your hood, but don't forget about Big Lots, have a huge assortment of wines for $1-3. Some killer stuff.

      1. The one on the corner of Wilshire and Fairfax carries wine. However, for the last few months there's been slim pickens.

        1. Maybe you should try Bevmo. It's a few $ more for a 80+ point wine.
