Rose Water

torontovore Mar 19, 2007 04:51 PM

Has anyone seen Rose Water for sale? A location in north-central Toronto or anywhere up Yonge Street, even past Aurora, would be best, but I'll go where I can find it. It's an ingredient in a number of sweet or dessert recipes that I'm making. I'm NOT looking for the cosmetic variety which I think contains glycerin and is used as a body lotion. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey that's great! I just called Rabba's (Yonge at 401) and they confirmed that they have it in stock. And they're open 24hrs. Much appreciated Mikejor.

The one I saw it at was at Dundas and Islington but I would assume they would have it at any Rabba's Fine Foods...and it was the edible one as I was looking at it as I needed it for Gulab Jamuns once. I would assume any East Asian market would have it also.

It's easy to find now. I see both orange and rose water in Loblaws and No Frills stores. Any Greek or Middle Eastern food store would carry it, too.

There's a great Middle Eastern (Turkish, I think) grocery store on Avenue Road, north of Lawrence that should have it. And I am totally, completely blanking on the name right now. Begins with an "A". Anyone?

That would be Ararat and they're Armenian.

Nasr foods (Lawrence just west of Warden) definietly has it. Check the ethnic food section in most No Frills stores.
